After seven years in Fayetteville I've now flown the coop and headed north to be with my wife in New England. It's time for me to sell the house, and I'd like to keep it in the hands of a paddler. Someone who will appreciate it's history and location.

History:
Since 2000 some of the worlds best paddlers have at some point called this house home, or at least home away from home. Just a few of them include 2001 World Champion Erica Mitchell, 2x US National Champion Tanya Shuman, Steve Fisher, US National Champion Jimmy Blakeney (that's me), Bryan Kirk, Marlow Long, Pat Camblin, Current and 2x US National Champion Stephen Wright, European paddlers, Japanese paddlers, and the list goes on.

This is a paddler house, and we would all like to see it stay that way. It is also the inspiration for a video, Wet-House (you can purchase the video HERE, scroll down the page and you'll find it). This house is the Wet-House. It got it's name because it's inhabitants were barely able to dry off before heading back to the river for another run.

Location:
Why did all these extremely talented paddlers choose Fayetteville? As some (most? all?) of you already know, Fayetteville is the epicenter for both playboating and creeking in the Mid-Atlantic. Within a 15-30 minute drive there is a HUGE diversity of rivers and creeks, and there's always something running. And as for this particular house, how can you argue with a private location that lets you walk to Pies & Pints, the Cathedral Cafe, and the rest of downtown Fayetteville in just 3 minutes? Pretty sweet. Not to mention the world-class climbing, hiking, mountain biking and nearby ski areas.
The House:
This house is perfect for either a family or as a vacation home (or both). The downstairs has 5 main rooms (living room, dining room, office, kitchen, master bedroom w/2 closets) as well as the bathroom and a laundry room. Upstairs is a landing with a closet and storage space along with two bedrooms.

The Lot:
Located just off West Maple St, Francesa Street looks like a driveway and is not a thru street. This makes it a very private location despite being just a few minute walk from downtown. It is 1/2 acre in size, and since the house is located on the front of the lot, there is a large back yard which can be used for either hanging out or can be subdivided for another home (this has been confirmed by the town). The neighbors are great people and actually enjoy having a bunch of kayakers around!
